Five refreshing treats for our dog

On hot summer days, there's nothing better than consuming cool meals. The same goes for our four-legged friends, who feel the heat even more than we do.

That's why we suggest some recipes that are easy, quick, and economical. At the same time, they provide the necessary nutrients for their diet.

1. Ice Treat Recipe

Ingredients

  • Chicken broth
  • Apple

Instructions

  1. Fill a small cup or glass with chicken broth (not chicken bouillon cubes).
  2. Cut an apple into very small pieces and add it to the broth.
  3. Freeze for a few hours.
  4. Let it thaw a little.
  5. Remove from the container.
  6. Ensure the ice piece is not too small to avoid the risk of swallowing.

2. Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • 80g yogurt (unsweetened)
  • 20g watermelon

Instructions

  1. Cut the watermelon into very small pieces.
  2. Mix the yogurt with the watermelon.
  3. Place the mixture into ice cream molds.
  4. Freeze for a few hours.

3. Toy Filling Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 yogurt (unsweetened)
  • 1 can of tuna
  • A little parsley

Instructions

  1. Mix the yogurt with the tuna and chopped parsley.
  2. Fill the toy with the mixture.
  3. Refrigerate for a few hours to freeze.

4. Banana Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 glass of water (or as desired)

Instructions

  1. Cut the banana into pieces.
  2. Grate the carrot.
  3. Blend the banana, carrot, water, and turmeric together.
  4. This smoothie is rich in antioxidants, allergy-friendly, and suitable for all dogs.

5. Yogurt Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 apples or pears
  • 1 yogurt (unsweetened and lactose-free)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 glass of water (or as desired)

Instructions

  1. Grate the fruits.
  2. Blend the grated fruits with the yogurt, cinnamon, and water.
  3. This yogurt smoothie is rich in vitamins and antioxidants and is recommended for dogs that do not exclusively consume dry food.

In any case, keep in mind that although the above recipes contain calories, they are not enough to replace a complete meal. Therefore, we suggest offering them exclusively as snacks.
